New York City with Mike (CT style)

There were two extremely awesome things about our time in the Big Apple.

One - Mike was able to fly in for a week to trip the light fantastic!

Two - Our friend in New Canaan, CT, John Magill, put us up
generously, amply and over the top the entire time we were there.
It made seeing NYC all the more easier, pleasant and possible because of his loving generosity.

John, Grace-his fiance, Mike and me

Day one - Natural History Museum, Shake Shack and a bit of a nap. There was so much to see at the museum, even with some major exhibits closed. And the kids discovery portion is awesome.

An overnight flight from HI and a day of walking and sight-seeing would make any man tired. :-)

Day two -Tenement Museum with Kim (Magill), a walk around North End and the 9-11 Memorial. Dont forget to go in the bathroom of the pizza joint near Ferraras1

The fence

The New Memorial Tower - its beautiful

Day three was a doozey - Lunch as we watched a skateboard 5K through Manhattan, The original Macys, The Empire State Building, a walk to and through Grand Central Station, The NY Public Library, dinner at Stardust in Times Square with our RV Friends - the Shivers, a walk around Radio City, Rockefeller Center, including the ice rink, and lastly another jaunt through Times Square!

Nakes Cowgirl isnt really naked. In fact, in HI she would fit right in.

Scott, Natalie, Mackenzie and Kim Shivers, our support on the journey.

Now, she's fairly naked!

Phew what a day!

Day four was a down day. Church in New Canaan and then a wonderful church picnic given by John so we could meet some other home school families and relax.

Day five - Drive through New York; Flat Iron building and many others, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Central Park and the sailboats, Browsing in famous stores

The Met - get ready for truly too many bad photos of things we liked!

Save us!!

Central Park was wonderful

Owen and I went to FAO Schwarz while
Mike and Hannah ventured in to the flagship of Ralph Lauren

Going home after a long day!

So glad Mike came for a visit!

On our last day - without Dad - the state of NY took it upon themselves to open the Statue of Liberty. Who needs the federal govt - look what this state did! The ferry ride was great.

The Bull on Wall Street - no room for pictures at all.
