A Day at the Races

We swept into Lexington on a whim and continued on to Louisville later in the afternoon as unexpectedly. First stop was the Kentucky Horse Park - a wonderful learning experience about the history of the saddlebred horse - if only they had more horses there, but it was winter still. Then we moved over to the Churchill Downs museum. That was spectacular and well worth the drive and out of the way trip. Anyone who has known me a long time knows why we made this trek!

Still winter here.

Highlights by Mom:
  • Horses, horses and more horses (if only there actually had been more!)
  • Seeing Kentucky Derby winners - Da Hoss, Cigar and others.
  • Smelling horse smells.
  • The sun breaking through the fog.
  • Being on the race track at the Kentucky Derby.
  • Filling my soul with all things horse for a day.
  • Sharing it with H and O
